Meet Zee!

 

In Project Cavern players will take the role of Zee, a young girl with exceptional mining and exploration skills who dreams of opening up her own shop. To accomplish this goal she has recently moved to the remote mining town of Creshaven. Players will guide her through treacherous caverns to score loot that they will be able to sell back to the town's residents. With help Zee will be able to open up her own shop, keep it stocked with interesting items and learn a lot more about her new community.

Gameplay Overview

Project Cavern is a 2D top-down game that blends elements of dungeon crawlers, shop keeping games and visual novel rolled into one adorable package. The final game will be broken up into two distinct "sections" of gameplay – dungeon exploration and visual novel style narrative vignettes.

Graphically Project Cavern is inspired by retro 16-bit RPGS like Final Fantasy and other classics but with cleaner pixel art and access to advanced features like texture filtering and real-time lighting, thanks to the Unity 2D engine. Our art style closely resembles early 2D PlayStation Era RPGS more than their SNES counterparts.
